Openings Like Fischer's aor other WC's ... THREAD TOPIC(S) In Brief:
1) Fischer and players using "his" openings? -or-
2) Other WC or great player's & followers of their openings? -or-
3) WC or great player's and those of stylistic similarities?

When I began playing Chess it was 1968, then tournaments in 1972; right amidst the 'Fischer-boom Era' ; something of a 'Golden Age' of Chess in America. Naturally, I came to study the play and Openings of that American World Champion, & adopt many of them as my own; as so many other players did at that time. Unfortunately,
the supply of RJF games is finite and so leaves much uncovered ground for study within his opening choices. So it behooved those who sought to follow the Champ's choices to find additional player sources to study. Consequently, I was motivated to find a number of other strong players with a similar repetoire, back near that time. Thus I would like to share the names of such players as I found, from which a player seeking to emulate RJF in the early game may find additional understanding

Of course there are many great and worthwhile players; WC's or strong GM's, whom
one may well wish to follow in their openings. Therefore, this thread is also for you to provide information about the openings of such Player(s), and other players who
are associated with their repetoire. Perhaps someone could tell us of others to see for games similar to those of Botvinnik, Alekhine, Capablanca, Kasparov, Karpov, or
anyone else you can & wish to provide such data regarding? Benko, Anand, Keres, Gligoric, Schlecter, Kramnick?
I would find such to be quite interesting. Especially hard, it seems to me, may be concerning Tal ... He played so Many Different openings! But feel free to take a shot at that, if you like. He is among my very favorites. Along with Pillsbury, RJF, Velimirovic, Bronstein, Spassky, Bucklehead, & Tertsius. So many Greats to chose from.

Or a second approach; If you would prefer to chose a main player and give a list of
their disciples in playing Style. Games and play of similar character, if not the same
particular openings. For instance, someone once told me they studied Capablanca,
Petrosian, and Flohr ... and found important and similar concepts to learn therein.

My model ...to emulate is Kasparov, also because he and RJF had quite similar opening play. But I really like the way Kasparov used the Grunfeld as Black. His Najdorf is pretty good, too, although since the introduction of the English Attack it suffered quite a bit, but now it seems to be okay.

Bent Larsen... ...explored some offbeat stuff, e.g. old fashioned openings that didn't much see the light of day. The Bishop's Opening 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 springs to mind...
